The City of Ione Zoning Code, Title 17 of the Municipal Code, classifies and regulates the uses of land and structures within the City, consistent with the General Plan and balance of the Municipal Code. The Zoning Code implements the policies of the Ione General Plan and serves the public health, safety, and general welfare. It also achieves the economic and social advantages that result from an orderly planned use of land resources and provides a definite plan for the future growth and development of the City.
The Zoning Code establishes a series of Zoning Districts. These districts provide the regulations for what uses are allowed by right, conditionally allowed, or not permitted in various locations throughout the community. The location and distribution of these districts is described through the Zoning Map. A copy of the Zoning Map is available here:
